The experience is comparable to the feeling of a cat scratch or a sunburn. Long periods of irritation and tenderness are what make you feel any discomfort. Different people will report varying experiences of pain based on their individual pain thresholds.
Studies suggest aging decreases your pain sensitivity, meaning elderly people might experience less pain when getting tattooed.
People who are biologically male are more likely to experience greater pain intensity, a lower pain threshold, and a lower tolerance for induced pain compared to people who are biologically female.
If you go into a tattoo expecting it to be an excruciating experience, this might affect how much pain you actually feel.
In conclusion, it is often how comfortable you feel within the studio you are at to get your tattoo, the more comfortable you are, the less painful the process will be and the more pleasant the experience.
1. Know what you are looking for.
2. See your body as the full canvas, do not tattoo a design simply because it looks nice.
3. Tattoos do not have to have meaning.
4. Studio hygiene, ensure the Tattoo studio you are going to is following all health care regulations.
5. Manners. Understand that getting a tattoo is not a short process regardless of the design's complexity, so it is best to make yourself and the artist comfortable.
6. Tipping is common but it is not mandatory.
All Studios recommend their own aftercare method but here is ours:
